CTEI news recently, the China Silk Association issued an analysis report on the economic operation of the silk industry in 2016.

1、 Industrial operation

（1） Output of main products increased or decreased

From January to December 2016, according to the statistics of the National Bureau of statistics, the output of major products of Enterprises above designated size increased or decreased. Among them, the output of raw silk is 158400 tons, up 0.51% year on year; the output of silk is 8987 tons, down 6.89% year on year; the output of silk and satin is 667.56 million meters, up 5.82% year on year; the output of silk quilt is 20.74 million, down 14.62% year on year.

（2） Industrial economic growth rate stabilizes and picks up

According to the statistics of the National Bureau of statistics, in 2016, the main business income of Enterprises above Designated Size in the whole industry was 127.391 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.48%; the profit was 6.947 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.59%, among which the profit of silk reeling was 4.141 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8.39%; the profit of silk weaving was 2.344 billion yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 6.05%; the profit of silk printing and dyeing was 462 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 41.34%. In general, the growth rate of the main business of the whole industry continued to fluctuate and adjust. In the second half of the year, affected by the increase of production factor cost and the decrease of export, the growth rate of the industry's profit appeared a trend of high in the first half and low in the second half. The growth rate of the annual profit dropped by 1.44 percentage points compared with that in 2015.

（3） Stabilization of industrial economic benefits

According to the data of the National Bureau of statistics, although the growth rate of the main business income of the silk industry in 2016 increased by 0.34 percentage points compared with that in 2015, the total loss of loss making enterprises was 249 million yuan, down 22.46% year-on-year, and the loss area of enterprises was 12.30%, down 0.89 percentage points compared with the same period in 2015, slightly higher than the average level of the textile industry by 1.8 percentage points. Industry profit growth will continue to fall due to various factors, and downward pressure on industry economy will continue to exist.

2、 Export of silk

According to the statistics of China's customs, in 2016, the export of real silk goods reached US $2.936 billion, down 6.69% year on year
